Five Holiday Movies to Watch This Year

Five Holiday Movies to Watch This Year

By Ilwad Salex

It’s December—the time of fun and holidays! In the spirit of the holiday season, here are some festive movies to watch this year!

“Eight Crazy Nights”

8.5/10

A Hanukkah movie! The first thing I noticed when watching this movie was how the main character looks just like its voice actor—Adam Sandler—which I found pretty funny. You just don’t see a lot of movies do that anymore. I think this would be a good, comfy movie to watch at home with family (not the youngest members though!) and friends. The type of comedy in this movie might not be for everyone, though—you can watch a few clips on YouTube and be the judge yourself.

“The Hebrew Hammer”

9.5/10

“The Hebrew Hammer” is definitely a fun comedy. It’s about a crime fighter trying to save Hanukkah. I went in thinking it was going to be one thing, and it is the complete opposite. I’m still recovering from the shock. I liked it though! It is definitely not family-friendly, so keep that in mind. But I would recommend watching this with a friend or two one day for some laughs and fun reactions.

“Las Posadas: Christmas in Mexico”

10/10

This is a fun documentary about Christmas in Mexico! It’s a good watch, and it’s interesting to see the cultural fun and all the tasty food. I would recommend—and it’s only 28 minutes long too!

“A Christmas Horror Story”

8.5/10

I am feeling the .5’s in this article because, while I like the movie, there’s always something holding me back. I just never know what it is. This movie was something else! I love my horror movies so this was PERFECT for me. I LIKED IT. A LOT. Even though it’s a horror movie, it’s not the darkest of horror movies. Some parts are even cheesy—watch it in the dark please!

“The Night Before”

7/10

This movie is a good old regular comedy movie—it’s exactly what you would expect. Don’t go in with high hopes; it won’t make you declare this the best movie of all time!
