A look into student spaces: working and studying from home

As I was talking to some classmates online one day, I was struck with curiosity. Staying home has created an interesting dynamic for work and school. Talking to classmates and friends, I learned that some people have been using their childhood bedrooms as their study spaces, while others have turned their kitchen tables into a new home office. Some have also used this time to bond more with their pets and families. I believe it is interesting to see how people are doing in their new spaces, so I figured it would be fun to display some of these new student spaces in The Wheel. I asked some students to send me pictures of their lives in quarantine. Below are the results.

Riley McMahon ‘21 (Spanish Education) says, “This reflects a typical day in quarantine for me, cozied up with my doggo and my roommate.”

“My cat likes to take over my study spaces,” says Merrick Beddor ‘22 (Public Health).

Makayla Hendrickson ‘22 (Nursing) and her dog, Ted, keep each other company at home and on social distance walks.

Some out-of-state students are making the most of being stuck on campus. This beautiful space is credited to Jordan Lena ‘20 (English and Music Theater).
